Biography
Keshav Shah is a fifth-year doctoral candidate in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology (GT) and Emory University. He received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Virginia Tech summa cum laude with minors in biomedical engineering and German. At VT, he worked under Dr. Aaron Goldstein to study polymeric biomaterials for various skeletal tissue engineering applications.
In the Temenoff Lab, Keshav is investigating hydrogel microcarrier-based strategies to enhance the potency of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) and to deliver these cells for repair of damaged rotator cuff muscle.
In addition to his research endeavors, Keshav has served his community through leadership positions in GT’s bioengineering and bioscience graduate student organization and student chapter of the Society for Biomaterials (SFB). Outside of the lab, Keshav enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, staying active, playing musical instruments, and traveling.
